My Dearly and beloved Brother and Sister
I take up my pen
for the fourth and Last time I will even trouble you for an
answer to my letters. My Dear, I want nothing from you but a few
lines for to let me know whether you are living or dead but my
dear I know not why sisters have not sisterly love for one
another in this country as they do home or what it is that
changes you all.I know not but were I in the Indies I would not
change. Yes my dear sister I love my sisters as I do my life. I
love them more than they do me and I see also that in a foreign
home . I asked one request of you that is for to let me know how
[coulars?] do in Canada or how is dressmakers paid in it. Eliza
tells me they are paid as lo [low?] in it as they are hi [high?]
there. Pay here is but poor when I am paid only 20 shillings per
week. That is 10 shillings british and then pay my board out of
that. It leaves me but little for to spare but all that I do not
care for, if the Lord left me good health I would get along first
rate but I am so much indred [in dread?] of the winter and I know
if I get another attack it will kill me

(Page 2)

wholesome. Yes, my dear I would wish for to go to. Please for to

will pardon me for not asking for you nor your family but I
