| Transcript | Owen Sound August 7th 1899 My Dear Cousin I sit down to answer your letter and I ought to have answered it sooner but some how the time slipped past and I often thought of it so you must forgive me and I will do better the next time I am very sorry to hear that your husband is not getting better but I trust by this time he will have fully recovered we are all well at present for which we are thankful Dear Cousin you were very kind to answer those letters for me, if you would enquire of my cousins Bella and Grace they might remember something about my Aunt Jane Brown as she used to come to my Grand-Mothers to see her and enquire about us they might remember something about her and where she lived my Father had no Brother's he was an only son and his father was also an only son and my brother is also and he has only one boy to [too?] so for the four generations there has only been the one boy I am sure you will feel lomesome your son going away from home but it is a great comfort to you that he goes out in world a good boy as I think it is a pleasure to my Mother to see her family grow up and do well I get your papers regular and I am very thankful for them I suppose it was the paper you mentioned #PAGE 2 that we had to pay a cent on and I often wondered if you had to pay anything on the papers I sent I have quite a book now of all the pictures you sent me and I have Murray Davis' picture amongst them we had a very fine demonstration here on the 12 of July there was more people in Owen Sound that day than ever was in it before or likely to be for some it was a beautiful day and I often wonder if the day will ever come when I will see you all Bella was delighted to hear that Maggie sent her love to her I have not seen my Brother this two years dont forget to write to me soon and our united love to you all Elizabeth Fleming |
