Dear Mother I write you These few lines to let you
Know that I am well hoping That you are in the same
I would have wrote sooner than this only that I
thought Sarah would have would Wrote before this time
I am living with my son he is a Barber and he has a
Shop of his own now we are living together and he has
a wife and three Children I am not sure yet Whether
I will go to the mines next summer yet or not I would
like to get an answer From this as soon you can and
how you are getting along and how your health is and
if you are still able to move about I got no word
from William or malcom [malcolm ?] lately I am Going
to write to them Soon I send you another likeness this
time this is said to be a truer Likeness than the other
I got to feel well since I came from the mines I will
send a newspaper this time I send my respects to Cousin
patrick abel thomas and sarah and all my friends and
acquaintance about Magherascouse dear mother I need
say no more this time I remain your affectionate son
