Dear Mother

In answer to your very welcome letter to hand some time ago. Also the things you sent with Sam M. Gaughey thank you very much for them. I always appreciate anything from the old country. Its such a long time since we heard from any off [of?] you. we were commencing to think our last letter had got lost, it must be at least eight months ago since we wrote The Baby is getting a fine Big Boy, creeps all over he cant walk yet, but can stand alone by holding on to something, we call him William Gordon we take him to Church nearly every Sunday & he'es [he is?] very good. Weer [We are?] having very wet weather at present but it is doing lost of good. The folks are all well around here The Baby & I were over at Armstrongs & Joe Marshall's for a week the change done him good. Have you seen Jeannies Baby yet? My mother says its a Cochrane. I'me [I am?] sure she'd be glad to have you or any of the girls come & see her. We got a stamp picture of Sarah, she seems to have grown a big girl we heard she was going into the post Office. Sam has got along first rate I guess he dont get home very often to see you. I sent him one of the Baby's pictures he sent us one of his some time ago, he has got so fat, I'd hardly know him. We have got two
Irish men working for us. Joe King & Gervin Kilpatrick, they are both fine fellows, we have all off [of?] our grain in, & potatoes out, the cows are
commencing to come in pretty fast. I'd a letter from Mother a few weeks ago, she said one of the Martins had got Married to James McCune, I guess its Lizzie How is Johnnie, Hugh & all of the folks? Does Johnnie teach a class yet? I guess he still sings in the Choir, Id like we could take a trip back & see you all, but I guess it wont be for a long time yet, Gervin & Joe gets lots of Irish papers so in that way we see the news. Well I guess this is all at present as I'll make Will write a piece its very hard though to get him started. I told him that you would think I was keeping him from it Good bye for the present Love to yourself & all the folks
Lovingly yours Edith
