Mr. Robinson,

Dear Sir, I am sending you these few lines to let you know
your sister is at last on the road to recovery. For 16 weeks
we had no hope. Her child's death, and the killing of the man
she was to marry done their work and caused brain fever. In a
few weeks she will be able to write you herself. We none of us
opened her letters until now or we would have wrote sooner to
you. I think when you write to her I would say very little
about Bessie's death. She was the last one of the three and
none knows what the child was to her. Even Edwin's death did
not affect her so. I am, although a stranger to you, her
uncle by marriage. We are here, taking care of her, for she
is like our own child to us and we could ill spare her, tho
I suppose she cares more to be with the ones over there, but
I hope we will go first where so many of our family are gone.
Excuse this writing as I am not very good at it.

Yours faithfully,

W.J.GIBSON

Mary is still at the house her child died in.
