Canada [Stamped] NEWTOWNSTEWART PM 10 NO 24 99 [Postage Stamp] Postage and Inland Revenue One Penny [Written upside down] 8 2 3 3 11 5 15 10 [Back of Envelope] [Stamped] WINDSOR AM DE 4 99 ONT [Stamped] PLUMBRIDGE A NO 24 99 [Page 1] Castledamph November 23rd 1899 Dear Cousin In answer to your letter of the 22nd.,. inst was glad to hear from you once more I would have written to you before this but the time flies past so quick and leaving it off from day to day [at?] last you get careless and quite forgets [sic] about it alltogether [altogether?] I see by your letter you are going to have a pretty hard examination this time but I hope you [Page 2] will pass this time as well as the last never let it into your mind that you will not you know a faint heart never win [sic] a fair lady The war is the whole talk of the people here now the English are getting it hard enough but they will win in the end We had not much fun on [Halloween?] night it was very quiet There was a kind of party in James Campbells Tom & John Charles was at it and that left it Dull about home as the rest of us did not go out at all [Page 3] The Band was in Newtownstewart on Saturday last they are building an Orange hall in it. The foundation stone was laid that day there was twelve bands in it we all went on Cars this time there was seven Cars and they looked splindid [splendid?] every one who had a car bilonging [belonging?] to the Lodge had to take it ---- I am sure you will be surprised to har [hear?] of John McFarland being married to Lizzie Dunbar she has turned him back from his evil ways so that is not so bad he is back at Eden Meeting Robert McFarland has got into a [sic] with the girls at last There is a girl in barness [Barnes?] that has a Baby and she has left Robert down for the Father of it but I dont believe he is guilty he will get a lot of trouble over it at any rate we are working up at Georges James' to-day he [left?] on Tuesday last. There was ten of us up with loads for him he has got a fine farm up there We [are?] all well at present Your ones was talking about sending you some Money in this letter Your Cousin Willie Write soon |
