Dear Father & mother
I lift up my pen
to inform you that I am well at
present thank God for it I nevever [never ever?] had
better health in all my life than what
I am enjoying since I left home
I am quite uneasy because that I have
got no letter from you and I wrote
twice to you since I came to this country
but I do suppose that you have not
received any of them and as soon as
these few lines comes to hand I will
expect that you will write as soon as
possible because that I would be
very glad to here [hear?] from you all as I
as I am wandering through this wooden
Country and has not very many
friends in it. I recieved [received?] a letter from
Cousin George Graham on the 12th inst
and he stated to me that John Hamilton
had not arrived with him yet and
please let me know whether he left
home or not I do not expect to go to
Maysville about the first of November
to see him as I am only about 200
miles from it and I can sail down
in about one day and a night &
I am living this summer with James
Hagan son to Charles Hagan of tubermore [Tobermore?]
he does keep retail grocery and dry
goods store please let me know
how cousin John Graham settled
his affairs that he had on hands
when I came away I was sorry to
here [hear?] of James McCullaugh's death
Henry informed me about it I have
nothing more to say and when you
write to me direct your letter to
Dungannon post-office state of Columbiania [Columbiana?]
County Ohio for me I conclude
in sending my best respects to Father,
mother, sisters and brothers also to
James Graham & family ucle [uncle?] John
and family to Misses McCullaugh
and family not forgetting the old woman
Robert Orr and family also to Thomas
Philips and to Michael Convery & family
you may let Michael Convery

know that he would not get a farm
of land here cheaper than 30 dollars
per acre without that he would go
out to the woods and make improvements
among the trees No more at present
