| Transcript | My Lord I have a Considerable Property in Lands & otherways in the Province of New york, that the Present Situation of affairs Renders very Precarious, namely if some Conciliotary [Conciliatory?] plan doth not take Place with America, an Early knowledge whereof, or of being Probable, woud [would?] be of Singular Service to me, as to the Means to be Adapted for its Security & which ought to be as soon as Possible, I therefore beg Leave to Request that if your Lordship can Consistently give me any Information, that you will Honor me therewith, also with your Opinion in Regard to a War with France. which woud [would?] Guide me in my Commercial Movements. I Hope you & Lady Hillsborough are well, to whom my Most Sincere Respects. The Linen & every Branch of Business are as low as Possible, a Scarcety [Scarcity?] of Money & Prices of Provissions [Provisions?] very High - which obliges the Manufactorers [Manufacturers?] to Enlist in great Numbers.
