April 23, 1849 This is to certify that we believe the bearer Mr. Henry Johnson whom we have known for some time is a gentleman who is well qualified to fill any responsible situation such as Book Keeper salesman etc. etc. We further certify that we have good reason to believe him to be a person in whom the fullest confidence may be safely placed.
