Dear Uncle you must excuse us for not writing to you before this Dear uncle my father was vexed at Tommy when he came home he told that he was never any good as he believed all he was told [Page 2] about him in Ireland so him and my father had a row about it so my father said he would write no more till he would be able to find it out as Tommy said he was not going to stop here any longer he would go to lodgings so my father told him he could please himself so he did he was in lodgings 14 months he came in the house to see us every day until he got an old soldier in the stable and coxed [coaxed?] him to list so he went away on the 25. of September last month he never told us nor the man he was living with [Page 3] that he had joined he went away and never let on he was going he joined the. 11th Hussars No 4102 Cavilary [Cavalry?] Depot Canterbury Kent his regiment is out in India 4 years but he may be over at Christmas as he will be drafted away next June to India he may be down and he may not. I have not much at present as I dare say father will be writing Tuesday or Wednesday and he will tell you all about it Tommy has not wrote to us yet we are expecting one from next week. Jack and bob send [Page 4] their best love to all our friends. Father is out on duty he did not know I was going to write I have no more to say at present I dare say billy and me will be over about Easter we were coming -XMas only we were too upset about tommy hoping all our friends is [sic] well.
