My Dear Aunt
I now take the pleasure
of writing a few lines to

and all my Cousin [cousins?]
hoping you and all are in good
health.
Dear Aunt I suppose you are
thinking I have forgotten
all about you as I have not

I had nothing strange to tell

came away if I had have
thought on of writing to

had another month’s extension
but I was quite satisfied
with two months I enjoyed
myself well with you I
think it will be another
couple of year’s [sic] before

to go to Egypt next

voyage home. Dear Aunt
I have got on better here
than what I expected I
have been on General's [escort?]
a month we have not much
time too [to?] our selves (ourselves?]
but it is a fine healthy job.

Dear Aunt I suppose my father has not
wrote to you since I
