Well Cousin I suppose you have heard by this time as I was over at Ireland on furlough for three weeks before I left all my Dear Aunts and Uncles and Cousins to come to this country but I would have liked to have seen you as well. Dear Cousin I was at your house when your paper came and letter I was pleased to see that you have passed your examinations and hope you will get on well when you get home again I think you shall be home before me I shall be out here for 5 or 8 years yet which I dare say you shall be married and settled down before then Dear Cousin the last letter I had from Bella she said Aunt and William were going to the seaside but I never answered the letter until to day so I supposed they will be vexed I suppose you often think you would like to be home instead of so far away. Dear Cousin we had a few good nights sport with the school teachers I forget their name I know this they are a very nice and jolly pair Dear I like this station alright so far although they call it the whiteman's grave it is full of fever. Dear Cousin I will draw to a close these few lines hoping you are in good health and strength as I am at present in good health thank God I remain your Dear Cousin T. Hay to J. A.
