| Transcript | Dear Sister I have often wrote to you and have received No answers not noing [knowing?] as they ever reached you. I now write again of the death of our much honered [honoured?] Mother, she died the 28th of December in the year 1803 After a short sore sickness of two Days, about the last of october she was ceased [stained] [stained] still up and able to take [stained] which continued by [stained] cheerfull [cheerful?], as pleasant as and spoke plain to [stained] expecting Death and [stained] [stained] herself to god in the hopes of a Glorious [stained] she talked much of you and [sister?] peggy and longed to hear from you. Brother william and sister Margaret were [so?] very kind to her sister Charity, - Margaret McClean and [?] were with her steady during her Last days, she was still much respected by all her friends and Neighbours [?] the largest Funeral that ever was in [Cambridge?] [she?] was laid in our Fathers Grave William [?] died 30th day of January last. Cousin Oliver Whiteside Died last summer he left a wife and 2 children and one born since his Death Brother William and family is well. Brother William & family & connections are well, Only sister Charity is still poorly Whiteside hill and Charity Millar was married last winter. Brother Hills family and connections are Well John and William Gallansays families are well Samuel Grahams family is well John Hills family are well the [Telfords?] and Peter McAuley and famelys [families?] [?] [?] [?] Bainey William Mc[?] and Uncle Mathes David Mathes families and connections are well Andrew [Agnew?] is well and still lives with us. We are all Well my husband joins in love to you and family Dear sister write to me every oppotunity [opportunity?] you have for I long much to hear from you all , give my Love to all my friends and acquaintance no more but remains your loving sister unto Death Mary Irvine [7th?] May [?] 1805 |
