Vere Foster Esq

Dear Sir
I beg to apply to
you for aid [o?]n behalf
of Bridget Connolly, one of
my parishoners [parishioners?] who intends
going to America
she is a good virtuous
young woman of 20 years
of age. Her parents are
poor industrious people
who strive hard to support
a long weak family.
Unless assisted the girl
I fear, will not be able
to emigrate. Her parents
hope that she may assist
them to rear the
other members of the
family, and in course
of time, to bring out some
of them to America
I trust you will kindly
assist her.
I have the honor [honour?] to be
your obedt [obedient?]
John J Kelly P.P. [Parish Priest?]
