My dear Alexander
I suppose you got my
letter asking you to arrange
that matter of the 12 pounds, for
me. I enclose the money now,
& perhaps as my letter may
have gone astray, I had
better repeat what I said
in it, viz if possible to let
the money go to the General
Church of Ireland Fund and, if this be
not practical, to use it for
some Church purpose as
like that as possible. Will
you write & let me know if
the money reaches you safely
you can get Trans atlantic
post cards now, so if you
have not time to write a
letter, you could send one
of those. I know you will
not mind my [thus?] troubling
you - you are the best
person I could think of to
apply to in this matter -
I hope Alice & the baby are
well - When you get his little
Highness photographed
remember I shall request
a copy - I have pretty well
decided upon the California
question now, I hope to
go there in the spring with
my cousin Jinnie, she
& Aunt Mary are going
it will be a great exertion
to the latter, as it is a long
way off, however she is
anxious to get out to where
most of her sons are, so
she will make the venture
Have you heard of Wingfields
engagement? to a Miss
Eda Hertslet, a friend of
Mrs Lees. William expects
to be married in a few months
Wingfd [Wingfield?] must wait for promotion
his Wings [Wingfield?] lady-love is 21 years
of age, an only daughter,
and has 6 brothers, she is
a gentle sweet looking
girl. W.W. sent me her photo,
I had a short letter from
Uncle Robert lately which
I answered the other day.
Tell Alice to write to me soon
& tell me all about Baby
I feel so glad that you
have the little fellow -
Is your father well? give
him my kindest regards,
Do you ever go to Ahoghill
Have you seen dear Ed's
grave lately? did the rose tree
I planted there grow? I
may never see the spot again
I had a letter lately from
Fanny Hassard, she and
her sister are living in
Dublin, they dont appear
to be strong, & have a great
deal to trouble them, business
as well as other troubles -
My business affairs as far
as that 1000 pounds I was expecting
have come to a happy termination
I got the money & int. [interest?]
a short while ago. Will you
give my best love to Alice
& ask her to write to me soon
Believe me dear Alexdr [Alexander?]
your very affte [affectionate?] cousin
Anna S. King
Dont forget to let me know when this reaches you please.
