Dear Eliza
I write to you once more hoping to find you all in good health as
this leaves us all at present we have had a hard time since we came
hear we are to years hear this spring and we have not wanted
sickness in our house to weeks in that time the first was Thomas H
he was sick with the fever and ague and then we were all sick to the
one time the one could not give the other a drink of water all with
the fever and ague it is an awful sickness if you were sick one day
and well the next you would not be able to walk on your feet we had
one little girl died she was nine months old her name was Margaret B
McC and we did not expect David to get better but thank God he is
getting better the rheumatics bothers Archy a good deal you will be
angry with us for not writing to you before now I would have
answered your letter at that time but we left that place in a few
days after I got the money your father sent us but W. [William?]
Kidd said I might not write he would write the next day after we
left which I expect he did William and Mary was very kind to us
Archy was going to write a good many times there was always
something to prevent hi[Bm but do not be angry at him for he is not at
home now and I would be glad we never had left home it is a long
time to not hear from our parents but we hope the are all well and
we return you a sincere thank for the money you sent If you will
answer this let me hear how Margret is getting along and ask her to
write a letter to us we would like to get a letter from her Joseph
dont forget his grand ma and would like he had stayed with her let
us hear how James and family is and how my folks and how the are
getting along and uncle Georges folks is
