| Transcript | June 18th 1841 Dear Cousin Alexr [Alexander?] I take up my pen with plasure [pleasure?] to inform you that we are enjoying reasonable health at present we were glad here from you all and I think you will not forget to write when this reaches there and I think it would be best for the rest of the friends to defer comeing [coming?] [for a?] while [yet?] and when this comes to [-----?] we would wish they would requires us an answer and let us know how lots sent there now and the prices of articles produce [---?] and particulary the wages for labouring hands as I anallisaye [analyse?] anxious to know and we will have a better chance of knowing what would be best for them to do but [from we?] thinks they had better not make the attempt to come for a while but if one of the boys would carry over he would have a better chance of knowing how this country would suit you but our land here is not like yours it is both hilly and swampy in places but with hard labour we earn make a reasoniable [reasonable?] living but they would likely think it hard to come to this country and work as we know to do here but I have nothing particular to wright [write?] to Alexr [Alexander?] at present but I hope [stained] that your labour will not be in vain that you may be enabled throu [through?] the grace of god to lead many enquiring souls to say what must they do to be saved and what must they do to enherit [inherit?] eternal life I have nothing more at present But Remains Your affectionate Cousin until Death Alexander McCoy LIVERPOOL SHIP LETTER Paid 25 To Mr. Alexander McCoy Northumberland St Toxteth Park Liverpool England Slippery Rock June /20 |
