TranscriptI am sorry to hear of Uncle Moores troubels [troubles?]

it will be a great backset to them and
I think that they had no need of it
if it had been so alowed [allowed?] by the Over Ruler
of All thing but what He dos [does?] is all for some
kind purpose although we may not suit.
We have had a good wheat Crop this
year but the Corn Crop has been short
and is expected to be high in price this year
We are paying 80 [?] p Bush [per Bushel?] of 5 [?] lbs at present
but will have to pay more before long
the receipt of Wheat at the Mill from August
has been 100000 Bushels and to this time
the new Mad [made?] 20000 bbls [pounds?] Flour. I think
we make more flour here than Moors Mill
or Laurmes either, and then it pays right
well. We have been taking Christmass [Christmas?] all
last week at the Mill the Hands all
left on Saturday and do not come back
untill [until?] they are hire [hired?] at the first of the year
you talk of Slaves but if you were here
about Christmas you would know more of
them than you know now they go about
dressed in the very best I suppose you
think they do not get pay for work but
in that you are greatly mistaken they
sometimes make in a Week 10 or 12 [?] and
they have that to themselves. I have seen
some of them whiped [whipped?] but they deserved it and
if some of them would not get it they would
not work atall [at all?] and it is said a bird that
can sing and wont sing must be made
to sing (which nobody can deny).
I think that if Mitchal was to continue
his paper Robert would not sent any longer
for you appear to think very little of it for
my part I think very little of it for I
seldom even read it but I believe Mitchal
is about to give it up as the reason
he gives to the publick [public?] for risining [reasoning?] is that
his Eyes are failing him but I think there
are other reasons beside the one he gives
and one I think is that kind of a paper
will not pay and he cannot change
opinions so sudden as to write a paper that will
pay.
