Dear Sir
Will you kindly let
me know if you can borrow
about œ80 or œ90 to pay John
McClelland (Canary) [sic?] the
balance which I owe him, he agreed
at the time to leave œ100
at 6 per cent I was to pay
it to him two years from Feb
next but he wrote me that
he is very much in need
of the money. My brother
will call and state to you
how much money he holds.
of mine then you will know
exactly how much I will require
I would like to have the privilege
of paying on the net
profits of my farm each year
on a/c [account?] of note.
Hoping to hear
from you soon I am
Very ty [truly?]
