| Transcript | New York June 6th 1850 Dear Joseph Your letter is duly to hand and I am sorry I cannot indulge my own inclination and gratify your wish by going over to Philada [Philadelphia?] The business for which I came here is not yet commenced and I do not know when it will be finished - I wish to leave by one of the Packet ships of next week and hope to reach Ireland some time early in July - I will wish great pleasure take charge of any letters and parcel you my wish to forward to my Brother or any of your friends. [Banarfh?] History of the United States is undoubtedly the best yet published and I do not think there will be a new edition after the [course?] - I am almost sure John would never get through it he is so dilalong [sic]. I rubbed him up pretty sharply some time since about this in reply to a letter from himself on the subject. I fear he wont take all I said quietly, but the fault is his own for asking my opinion In haste Your affectionate Cousin |
