| Transcript | San Francisco 15th January 1892 Dear Sister I just recieved [received?] your letter to day and was more than thankful to learn you were well and that the account of the disaster was so much exaggerated then it was quite bad enough. I am so much surprised to hear of Miss Grahams death do not be worried on my account for I have never felt better in my life than since I have been in the City We had a letter from Willie last week I was very pleased to hear from him for we had written several letters and some had been returned The only objection I can see to you marraying [marrying?] Willie is his close relationship it might not prove fortunate to your offspring otherwise you can never do better for Willie is good and kind & true and should never have to change your name Besides he is a man that is sure to be some body that you feel will not drag you down and more Still I would like to have you [with?] me perhaps some months hense [hence?] but do not let that influence you nor sacrifice yourself against your wishes on my account We are getting along very nicely have very pleasant rooms and go and take a walk when I please or a ride on the streetcar Mr Moore is kindness itself I believe he thinks much more of me than I do of him So Mrs Parkinson has got discharged and in such a manner too you did not say who her companion was but I supposed Staples well (sic) I am real glad you got most of your things saved for it costs money to have them replaced So Alice wanted you to come and see her is Caleb married yet. we are having such nice weather here now only a little rain there is quite a good amount of La Grippe in the City but thank god we have escaped so far Mrs Small I believe kept your letter through carelessness before and did not forward it So I sorry you wrote to her but I shall drop her a line to the effect that she need not trouble writing to you Mr Moore may write a few lines so I will close this time hoping to hear from you soon your as ever Isabella Moore I have never heard from home since I wrote to you Adress [Address?] 220 / 3rd St San Francisco Cala [California?] |
