My Dear Aunt Susan
As Mamma is so busy this morning she asked me to write
instead of her. I am at home this week with a sore knee it is
a good deal better to-day. Since these gentlemen came Mamma
has a good deal extra to do although they give as little
trouble as possible. Tom's Boss Mr Rogers & his wife were up
to see us on Tuesday evening he is very much pleased with Tom
he told papa that he was a very good boy & that he took
great interesr in him. The two Anderson boys Hugh & Jim were
sleeping here last night since Saturday week They had some
friends from Pennsylvannia stopping with them & they had not
room for them all. Edna is going to a surprise party tonight
on Precious Noise a Lawyers daughter she lives just a few
houses from us. I was invited too but I could not go on
account of my sore knee. We expect Mr Eccles to spend Sunday
with us He lived in Dungannon some years ago & papa meets him
often so he asked him up to spend Sunday with us. We did not
see Mr Broomfield since. Mr Anderson was in to see Mamma one
day this week and he is away on his journey again to Michigan.
The weather is very fine now & is much pleasanter than the
very hot weather We neverhave whole wet days here there are
some very heavy showers but never a whole day wet. Hoping you
will excuse this short letter with love & kisses to all not
forgetting yourself I remain
your loving
