Thomas Greer
We recd [received?] thine advising thou had
shippd [shipped?] [42/24?] Sheiting [sheeting?] on our
joint Acct [account?] on board the Brittania Capt [Captain?]
[Ross?] on which we made Insurance [3?][fines?] [then?]
[and?] [inform?] I shall [?] detained by Attachment
or otherwise which will be a mutual Loss to the
concern'd had triple the Quantity arrivd [arrived?]
could have dispos'd Aim to good Advantage they
having been in great Demand for some
Time past & as we have urg'd [urged?] thy finding
a considerable Quantity of low pric'd Linen
from 10d to 13d need not add much on this head but
that we shall expect em [them?] in due Time
The Merchants & traders of this City have agreed
to import Goods from great Britain except those
Articles that are liable to Duty therefore what
Linins [linens?] thou may hereafter ship us may
be sent to Liverpool in order to recover the
Bounty ; thou hast not furnishd [furnished?]
with Sales of either the Flaxseed or Flour which
we expected before their Time when thou does
wou'd choose to have [emsiperah?]
in order to settle our Books accordingly -----

Flaxseed is like to be very plenty this Season
no Doubt the price will be low with you, shall
endeavour to judge whether to Ship some on our
joint Acc [account?] or defer it according
as we may think for our Interest
