| Transcript | To: Thomas Greer, [Dungannon?] From: Dublin 4 mo [month?] 14th 1767 Loving Cousin I received thine of the 11th Inst [Instant?] and was well Pleas'd to hear that the Linnens [Linens?] was Shipp'd & the Vessel Sail'd for Philada [Philadelphia?] I can ashure [assure?] thee it was by no means my intention to make such an abrupt Elopement from my native County and frinds [friends?] as Some of my Relations would Intimate: my Sole design was to Secure a Passage & a good birth [berth?] for myself in a Vessel that I Knew and a Capt [Captain?] that I was acquainted with which I think was very Laudable. However the Vessel is now Sail'd or on the Eve of Sailing & my Intentions Quite frustrated I might have gone with her, but Rather Choose [Chose?] to wait for an other opertunity [opportunity?] than go off so very Percipately [Percipitately?] & without bidding my friends farewell after coming so great a Distance to See them - I intend to return to the North this Week & hopes [sic] to meet with thee & some more of my relations at Lurgan or Moyallon [Moyallan?] next 7th day if all is well my Love is to Cousin Sally &c thy affectionate Friend & Cousin Jno [John?] [Jonathan?] Morton J. Nicholson & family is well, |
