TranscriptDear Mother you say you would like to now [know?]
how Brother Andrew is as for him he sold his place
and went home to live with his daughter Margret
Rowlan and Mary teaches school and Mary Ann livs [lives?]
out so that sarah Jane and Martha is so displeased
with him for leaving them with out a home
that the do not speak and there is much letter
a righting [writing?] betwixt them and there father every once
and awhile [a while?] but I want you to not mention it as the
might come to hear it, and as for sister Bell she is
well and she livs [lives?] in a house of her own and has 70 dollars
a year to keep her and she pays Charls [Charles?] 20 dollars
a year for keeing [keeping?] her cow summer and winter
uncle Andrew comes up hear [here?] once in awhile and stops
all night with us and I think he looks as smart
as ever he done Thomas Creags [Craigs?] family are all well
now as for our selves we are all
well and is quite happy but
Jane says that when she gets
rich she will go home a gain for
the winters is so long hear [here?] that
she would not stop hear [here?] all the
time and at any reat [rate?] she would
like to see you all again as we
are sorry to hear of your illness
but think it is very likly [likely?]
[----?] what she will never see
as I would not go home again
for all the land you have got
and I think it strange that
there is so many stops there
when a few weeks would [rid?] them
of it you may think that
this is not what [wright?] to
have sent to you but I need
not begin to tel [tell?] you what
i think as it would only
vex you
Please give this
to my Mother
