My Dear Sister Frances & All
I received your letter of the 24th Nov

of the congestion of the heart but at present
I am quite well and all the rest are
pretty well Joseph informed you of My, [---?]
for [Pence?] And Since the time that he wrote
till the present I believe I had a trial
; the case was this in 1859 May the first,
I went into partnership with the captain
of the [Iam?] Bank as I lost all my money
at Morristown I and he [lasted?] the Bloom
fields Mills he had the money and me
or he paid out 3000 dollars on the Mill
and before he had been 5 months he
wanted to get me out and I saw that
it was impossible to get along with him
therefore I signed off and the moment
I done So he entered a copius [habeas corpus?]
against me and it has been in law ever Since the said
case on in Sept 1861 And I was [cash?] and
I have been on the hands of the City of
[Merceck?] for 1 Year & 7 months I carried it up
[sic] to the Supreme Court at [---ton?]
[------?] is 4 miles from Bloomfield Since
I have been here I turned my attention
to [---?] fitting Mother comes down every Saturday
the trial date comes on the 20th of this
month, his [------?] has to [-----?] the [Sattist?]

state in their Country [-----?] And blood
sheds I expect nothing but desolation since
the war commission shire [?] is over 300000

walk on crutches what the country is going
to come to I do not know it is completely
divided against itself the North has an
army of One million Now speak of the South
Joseph was on the battle fields of Shilo Corinth

uncharged? D [Dear?] Sister it seems to me that God
is going to take vengence on the Earth for
the Sins of the people [--- -----?] all leaving
is completely suspended And we are tired
and of measures And all [parts?] are double
