Letter: 105 Madison Ave. My Dear Nato, The artist, Alice Barbour Stevens, who is illustrating my childrens' story for " Harpers' Young People" has asked for some pictures to aid her - photographs of some of the handsome homes in French town and of the people, and I think you can help me. One thing I know you can do. Send me Arthe's photograph to be used throughout the story as a model of Babette herself. How I wish Mrs. Stevens could see the lovely child herself. She is exactly my idea of my sweet little heroine. If you have one with her hair hanging long about her shoulders, I'd like it and haven't you some pictures taken when she was very small? The story takes Babette from 3 yrs. old up to her maturity. I'll love to have Arthe's face in my book. And cant you help me beg, borrow or buy one or two 'photos' of handsome Creole houses. I don't want the kind with the close door and inside court but the broad galleries, gardens etc. Almost any picture, though, would be of service as giving character of buildings on the streets. I hope you'll like my little story. Where is your picture I was to have, dearie? I have no time for a word with you, for ourselves, this morning. Am rushing this for next mail.
