| Transcript | Newcastle Oct 17th 92 Miss Wear [Weir?] I suppose you will think that we have forgot you but not so the reason that I have not answered your letter Mary was not here we went away last month when we got word when the boat was to start and we started in good time so as we could make a visit with some Friends in Newtownards and sail on Saturday as we got word the Second Day we were there got A Letter from Londonderry Office saying the Boat was not ready and Could not sail till Sunday and got a Letter from my unckle [uncle?] from Newyork [New York?] to my Cousin for us not to Start till the Collar was Checked we had our Baggage all in Newtownards and there it remains untill [until?] we start again we sent our tickets to the Office and had them exchanged for returned Trip ticket and a Order with them for Reduced trip tickets on the train and if you have not got yours Rite [write?] to the Office in Londonderry and have them exchanged and tell them who you came with and we will try and all of us go over together I would be very glad we went be together and the [there?] are nothing to hinder us to be as one family only I am going to rite [write?] and find out what time the Boat will be ready again and try it once more Mary has been away two weakes [weeks?] I am expecting hur [her?] Every Day I think by this and with the Cold weather in Newyork [New York?] the Collar will be Pretty well Checked I would like to get away before the cold weather sets in Ireland the Summer was bad enough without any more the Farmers about here are all Buisy [busy?] at there [their?] potatoes and A little grain to bring in Crops are very good we have not had A paper or letter for over A month the [they?] will think we are all Dead or Drowned I am sure the [they?] are in A great way well gods is the Best way hoping its all for the better and the [there?] are [is?] no use in moining [moaning?] we will have to the beast [best?] of it well Anna I hope to here [hear?] from you and meet you in Londonderry soon I think you have got all the news or pretty near good by hoping to here [hear?] from you soon when Mary comes here I will have hur [her?] to rite [write?] you J.
