| Transcript |                     th Jan 11 1892 Detroit Mich [Michigan?] Miss Weir I received your welcome letter. We were anxiously waiting for an answer Lizzie had wrote when I started to Goderich she got no answer. She thought that probably it got there during the fire. We were so uneasy about you all untill [until?] you wrote. But they saw by the papers no one was hurt It is no wonder there are a great many sick. The cold and exposure Well I never knew anything about it untill [until?] I came home. James told me he was going to send me the papers untill [until?] I would see it. I had such a queer dream about fire when I was in Goderich. I thought it was hasty [nasty?] news I was going to hear so it was. Mr Reid put a heating stove up in my room up stairs for fear I would feel cold The girl started it in the morning. Well I dreamed I was out calling and some person told me Mr Reids house was on fire I thought I was coming runing [running?] to get my clothes out of the room when the girl meet me saying it must caught fire from the chimney the draft being left open I yells get my clothes out & get my silk dress out too I jumped right out of bed & awoke. So glad to see it was only a dream Little did I think it was such a fire with you's [you?]. It was a great blessing to think no one was burned what was the cause of it starting. You must have had quite a time & with your fall Miss Gadam & Miss Late would be kept busy Miss Harrison would have quite a time with her folks How did Miss Lovel conduct herself where is she now Did any of the hospitals burn. Where is Miss Harrison & her ladies stoping it must look very queer now the building. When are they going to build again I suppose this will prevent your going to Europe. Did you loose [lose?] any of your clothes or did you save any or did Miss Harrison loose [lose?] any. My what lovely presents you's [you?] sent Lizzie. She cant begin to thank you & Miss Harrison for your kindness Write soon hoping that you are all well Good bye  |
