| Transcript | Detroit May 30th 1892 Miss Weir Dear friend you will think me long in answering your letter We are all pretty well I was waiting until we would know whither we could get at the time we spoke about. John & James were to the agent and he could not tell decidedly until tomorrow if we could get a trip they [torn] crowded so the first & second cabins John said he wanted 3 second cabin passages The city of California one of the safest & finest on record I thought I would write and let you know this & I will write you again when the [they?] hear for shure [sure?] tomorrow. They told me to drop you a few lines to let you know this. What a time they have left out when you's come in John has moved to a lovely place on Baldwin Ave We were out there yesterday It is 3 blocks above Nicks I was to day there - a card when you's came in They are not quite settled yet. James says he is so glad that lady Mrs McKinzie [McKenzie?] is gone there will just be ourselves 3 I did not care much for her. Lizzie says when you's come in she has a mash for you's Tell Miss Harrison The [they?] would have liked terrible well to went out on the excursion but could not. Lizzie says she told Miss Harrison she was going out when she got married I must stop My eyes pain me so looking at the paper I cant hardly write excuse this scribble John says [will?] be at the Twelth at home this year I will write as soon as I get more news James said he'll be up Wednesday we'll know for sure then Remember me to all Also Miss Harrison & Yourself I remain your friend M. Savage I wonder if the Dr could give us anything would keep us from being sea sick so Good bye |
