I dear friend

I am so rejoiced to know that
you are still here yet. I can hardly

We were the length of Newtownards
going when we got word not to
go any further on account of the

to visit James went back to
Newcastle I got a letter from my
uncle in New York saying if
we were not started on any
account to come. We had started
the day before and Margrett [Margaret?]
sent the letters [thereto?] with a man
to catch us I expect a letter from uncle
uncle (sic) Langtry soon
He is to let us know when it will
be safe to start. I was often & often
thinking had you gone The last
letter I got from you I answered it
