Dear Miss Gass,
P.O. [Post Office?] Order to hand
all right [alright?] - thanks - but
I see I'm to have no hand
in money matters. You
have indeed managed
the whole affair most
clever. I do congratulate
the young ladies upon the
success & I trust I shall
yet see the Book in its
place & preach the Word
from it. Anything about the
Church of God is so noble
that I wish you now is
I hope such is only the
beginning as it were, of
the young Ladies' good
works about the place
"The Ladies [v?] the boys" they
say. I dont believe I
cld [could?] have got either my
church or Manse built
without them. One Lady has
just handed in #26 on
her card for our Manse &
she hopes to get more.
A good husband &
who cld [could?] tell but such
might turn up before
all be over. Some people
say such is rare but
I think they are still
to be had & the more
of them the better.
I think it wld [would?] be well
to have the inscription of
some sort of ornamental
coloured paper & pasted inside -
dont be in too great
a hurry about it it can
be done at any time, perhaps
it shd [should?] be printed too.
Kindest regards & best wishes
for your spiritual & temperal [temporal?]
prosperity Ever faithfully yours
J. Shannon.
