| Transcript | Healdsburg July 29 1887 My Dear Margaret We are al [all?] very sorry that we have to write to yous [you?] about yours [your?] Aunts death she died thursday morning after a short illiness [illness?] her complaint was a hemmerage [haemorrhage?] of the stomach we were all [very?] sorry indeed when she departed abut 25 minutes after 8 oclock in the morning she took bad on tuesday and lasted until thursday morning that was 1 day and 2 nights we may say we are very sorry indeed because we wrote to you in the last letter she had very good health we had 3 doctors with her but her life was impossiable [impossible?] to be saved we were all present and she new [knew?] us all until the last James whitch [who?] was 1 hundred and 75 miles away we sent a teleghaph [telegraph?] to him he arrived in time whitch [which?] she was very glad to see him there was quite a funeral of friends the speaking was in the house by Mr Drummond where a lare [large?] portion of people folled [followed?] her remains to the cemetery to her last resting place with Annie Mrs Groves We are all very sorry about our boor [poor?] mother when we lost her we lost a good friend we will miss her badly we can not [cannot?] express our grief to yous [you?] all. I know yous [you?] all will feel very sad It will go hard on your mother margaret and on yous [you?] all to hear of death (sic) the rest of the family are all well.
