From:[John Smith?]
Bmony [Ballymoney?] Tuesday

I received A very useless
letter from you I mean
that it was very little
use for Any of them
to tell me of what
the [They?] would Doo [Do?] or what
I would Doo [Do?] I have
still conducted my Affairs As yet that
I still made the [----?]
build the Ditch And
I hope to Always act
As sutch [such?] Although
A little limited At
present I hope that
A short time will
bring me to bee [be?] fit to
Clear my head of Debt
I long to see that
time And I hope it
will Arrive before
nine Months, I could
take a speedier plan
of it but never was
so foolish in being
hastey [hasty?] in A case of
that kind, it stired [stirred?]
me up A little just
As I received your note
to see Wm [William?] John Hamill
formerly of islands
passing to his fathers
with 6 or eight hundred pounds beside
him who was yesterday
As poor As my
self I mean he has
got the Mistress and
I Assure you that
I have not seen A
more respectable
Appearance of the kind in
my whole lifetime
you perhaps may
hear of me
going through the
same [----?] before
long if I should not
get so much [much?] money
I will still get
As mutch [much?] As any
of the patterns that
have been set to me
this I could Doo [Do?] if I chose very soon but
have not Altogether
made up my own
mind on that subject
As yet it is to one
that I am shure [sure?]
that you would
not think so that
you need not bee [be?]
forming any rang [strange?]
notions She is A sweet
young creature, I will
feel mutch [much?] oblidged [obliged?]
to you to come in on
the Market Day as I
hope that we will have
need of you And you
will Doo [Do?] After that
As I know that the [they?]
far beat me in planning
but if it were
left to them, Always
it would bee [be?] poorly
managed I only received
two letters this Day before
yours soliciting
me to go home
on thursday evening
And one A few days
before on the same
subject your son John Smith
