Dear father & Mother I write these
fiew [few?] lines to let you know that
I have taken my passage in the
Thomas P [Cope?] we are to sail this day
at 12 oclock John Scott A Mcfadden
and the Beards is all that is in this
vessel Robt [Robert?] Liggat and family is
stopping until the 16 to gon [go on?]
to new york and I thought it
to [too?] expensive to stop and he advised
me not to stop for he thought that
it would be the 20 before she would
sail and that would be two [too?] long
for us to wait, let Clark fullerton
know that his daughter gones [goes on?] to
new york on Munday [Monday?] Along with
the Twaddels they payed 2..7s..6D we
pay 3..10s..0D in the steerage the 2 Cabbins [Cabins?]
was all taken up, Dear mother you
will be uneasey [uneasy?] when you hear of me
being left robert liggart but you
need not for I am as well with out
him as he had enough for to mind
without minding me keep up
your heart and do not grieve
for I am in good Spirits Give
my love to all Brothers and
sisters and little Robert John
I could say more but have only
5 minutes to write no more but
remain your son to Death
