My Darling Mamma

You may be thankful that you got over when
you did. If you could see the weather we are having now. The week you
left was the last of the good weather – yesterday & last night it blew a hurricane The wind is still very high but its fair & not raining I wrote you a long letter yesterday but the post gave David two letters & did not come himself & the evening was too rough to send specially to the post so I shall mail them all today when I am at church. D. [David?] has no Sunday school today on account of the communion so he will be able to drive
me himself. I am very well - sick stomach is all gone & I only have indigestion now & again. I missed you dreadfully all day yesterday - & I dreamt about you last night. I got my new nightgowns yesterday. Thet are beauties great big wide ones & the cloth is beautiful. They are trimmed with silk embroidery & are nicest I have seen yet & only cost 6/- apiece. I have just finished my breakfast- nice codfish which the old man couldn't eat. He has such a fad for eggs now that he seems quite injured if he is asked to eat anything else. David wants my pen to do his sermon so I must close soon - There is no news since yesteday; but I write every day to tell you how I am & how much I miss you & think about all day (sic). D says if the weather does not improve he wont let me go to church - but he will post the letters he sends his love

Your loving little girl
Arthe
