My Dear Mamma
I am very glad to
hear such good accounts of you
from Lizzy I hope you are down
in the parlour by this time I am
getting on splendid now and
like this place better than ever
for the first night it was a little
strange but I am as happy as
the day is long. I had not time
to write to you yesterday it was
music day Mr Mills was up
tell L I can play Gavott de
Vestris off now I hope she takes good
care of the pigeons as the [she?] promised
me she would the young ones will
be out on Friday. Did Mary Brown
come on the day I left as you
expected. I suppose Tom is out ploughing
at Milltown every day tell him
I think I will not get down at Easter
as I told him I would I think
I should not like it well myslf [myself?] it
would only break up my school.
There was a new boy came last
night, he seames [seems?] to be a nice
boy is A B [Crory?] with you yet I suppose
L, will not let her go as long as
she can keep her
Tell Mr Wm [William?] Knox that I saw
a cog of his brouthers [brothers?] in a stall
in the street with R. G. Knox, Lifford
Strabane was the name in it I told
J. Craig about it.
I bought a cap down town with
my own money it cost 2/6 it is a
nice one I received a newspaper this
morning I expected a letter, We
thought we would have got Pancakes
but we did not.
Remember to send me my top if [it?] will
be a bad job if you forget to send it
Remember me to all I remain
your affectionate son
John C Boyd
