Dear Brother
We rec [received?] your letter of Feby 28 yest
[yesterday?] and I may till [tell?] you we are glad
to know you are doing so well I hope you get
appointed in that bussiness [business?] it will do
well if you are fit to hold both positions
I'll not say much more today as I have
other news for you I dont know what you
may say. John C. is for going out to you
14 of next month he agreed his passage
yest [yesterday?] to Toronto going by
Tunisian to Halifax Jamey McKnight is also
going out west John is for going to see you all
and coming back to Toranto [Toronto?] for to work
Jamey and he were both in Derry yest [yesterday?]
they could get on the Virginia (maiden trip) but
it would been £1 more £9 9s the passage was
he is not going to take very much with him as
regards clothes. he is for taking his tools
with him I suppose you will wonder what
notion he took he is not earning very much
here and he has to work today in one place
and to morrow [tomorrow?] in another so when
Jamey McKnight was going he thought he would
go and see what it is like anyway it
will do him good even he comes back
again Dont be hard on him because
he is afraid you will scold him when
he gets your length Mother is fretting a
little but it will soon go by He had
a letter from Jamey Dunbar yest [yesterday?]
and he say [says?] he as [has?] £2 18s per week
employed by the board of health but he is in New
York.
I dont think we will send any thing [anything?]
to you when you intend coming home this year.
anyway the cash will not be extra plenty
You can tell Uncle's folk he is going
perhaps Mary will write to them all. As I
said in my last letter Mary is doing some
running that was four week (sic) ago today and
I had a (sic) answer yest [yesterday?] so write
when you get one and we will have it Monday before John
leaves he leaves Friday 14 April so you
can look out what time she is due over ther [there?]
anything you wish to say dont be afraid
when you write next Some of the others will
write this week again as I am in a hurry
today only Mother Tommy and I at home
