Watson, 28 White Street, New York From: Marian Boyd, 2105 De Lancey Place, Philadelphia, Pa [Pennsylvania?] January 28th 1907 Dear Mr Watson, Mr Philip Crossle has written me that you wish to make some search in New York about some of your ancestors who lived there - and asked if I could give you any suggestions - in regard to where to look for information. In the Lenox Library - which is in Fifth Avenue about 70th Street the New York - wills to about the year 1765 are printed in several volumes. If you see the Librarian he will let [you?] have them, and perhaps may be able to give you some further assistance. The library is free. If you wish to see wills of a later date you can see them by going to the [?]rrogate's Office in the City Hall - which is, I think, not very far from your address - White St. [Street?] St. Paul's Church belongs to Trinity Parish. And all the records connected with it. You can get at Trinity Corporation House - which close to Trinity Church - at one side of the graveyard, I think. If you can tell them exactly what you want to find, they will look it up for you. There is not any charge. Mr Crossle asked if I knew of any genealogist in New York to recommend to you. I do not. I know a very experienced one here, who is familiar with all the records in New York, that I could put you in communication with. It is rather expensive in this country - the charge is five dollars a day - and travelling expenses. Of course if you have a good person they could do a great deal in a day, in a case like yours. Where it is all in New York. However I think probably you can find all you want from the wills and Church records. If there is any other point you desire information about I might be able to give you a suggestion - if you let me know what it is. I shall be interested to know how you get on, and if you are able to find out what you want. There are a great many records of various kinds in the Lenox Library.
