Dear James
Once more I take the liberty of
leting [letting?] you know that we are
all in good helth [health?]at present -
trusting that you are all well also
Dear James - I supose [suppose?] yous [you?]
will wonder when you will read this
note and hear how we are getting along
with glen Sass, [Glensass?] we went all up to Omagh
on Monday 7th to the Grand jury [our?]
case come at once - Mr Dickie objected
to it Saying that we had them prossed [prosecuted?]
for 20 pounds for cutting the wire and
that the triyal [trial?] was pending at the
present assizes - So the grand jury
Dismissed it - because we had them
prossed [prosecuted?]_____________ [sic]
So home we all come Monday being
a fine Day only hard frost
on Tuesday morning we got a letter from
Mr Gallagher that Mr Dickie would apply
for an adjurment [adjournment?] of the case he Mr
Gallagher Said he would oppose the
application with all his power - So
Wensday [Wednesday?] morning came - and we all had
to Start again - and worst of all
through a good fall of Snow it was
Snowing all the way - we were not long
there to [until?] the application was made by
Mr Dickie - that Mr [Tilymaurice?]
was unable to attend and had a Doctor
certificate - Mr Gallagher had to
submit to the ruling of the judge giving
us only 7s of expence [expense?] - So it will come
on again July - how it will end and where
and what way I know not. - Joseph McFarland
was up with us this time and will
prose [promise?] everything he can do.
We are ordered by Mr Gallagher to wire
again on the Same Spot So we will have
another Spring and Summer of it - I think
your Saying might come true that you
might be home again before it is all over ______ [sic]
We got a very Stormy night Coming Down
from omagh the Snow was very Deep - last
night was the hardest frost this year,
and to Day [today?] No appearance of a thaw - William
was going toDay for a load of turff [turf?] with
the [slipecar?] and had to turn at Joseph
Gilkys the Snow is So Deep - I was talking
to your Uncle and Aunt Stranghroy and they
said they had got a letter from you lately
the [they?] are all well - I Did not call
at the house either of the times as we come
Down and up allways [always?] althogether [altogether?]
This has been a trying year every way its
hard to mannage [manage?] the sheep and keep them
all alive - cattee [cattle?] is very cheap - and
fodder is very Scarse [scarce?] and Deer [dear?]
I never Saw the gardens as thin this Season of the
year we have 3 Stack now and we are Drawing
in one of them to Day [today?] we have about the half
of the hay So if we have enough we will have
nothing to Spare - young pigs is a
good price now but we have none now the
young one is only one month gone with young -
I have been Speaking to James Duncan
[Aughlean?] he Says I will go in the Spring
along with Willie John Duncan Eden
Ploughing is kept greatly Back we have uncles [uncle?] James
all Done write soon and give us all the
particulars - nomore [no more?] at present from you [your?] l.
[loving?]
father.
