So if we do not meet in this world we may all meet in heaven where parting is unknown - we received your letter Dated sept 4th on thursday 15th and we are all glad to here of yous [you?] all. Being in good helth [health?] we see by it that Annie and baby has come home We are glad to know that both are well [Page 2] I wrote a letter to Annie a long time ago - but I supose [suppose?] she had other troubles which kept her from writing I also see that your Uncle has all his crops in long ago - We cannot say so in this contery [country?] - Harvesting is only commenced and we have very rough weather Both wind and rain plenty we joined to cutt [cut?] The Bridgefield on Thursday the eight [eighth?] of Sept But the [there?] are [sic] some of it hardly ripe yet. But as soon as we are ready it will be ready for us The most of the people has commenced we have our flax all lifted and up in windrows [hay ready to be gathered into cocks?] I think we will Drive it to the mill this week if the weather permits Now about the times Gortin fair was everything But good we sold 16 lambs for 5s and 9d each - the two twins [twin?] lambs off you we Kept at home for 13s we sold to [two?] rams at 14s so this is very low prices Besides what what [sic] the [they?] were other years [Page 3] I bought a white ram the time I was up at omagh assizes at 24s for to putt [put?] along with the ewe this season. I bought some good year olds in Spring att [at?] 10s and I thought I was getting them handy 7s is the price I would get now you could buy the Best 23 and 4 year old ewes from 9s to 12s in the plum fair. I will send a paper with this letter Now I may tell you that Mother and me went to the Shore to Downhill It was the first time for her to be in a train and she was tired in it at Derry. We left Derry at 3 o' clock and was at Downhill in a short time She was muched [much?] troubled when she saw some of the large vessels going round the point. Starting for America - She was thinking then about you and others going through that great acion [action?] the weather being rough and one day especialy [especially?] the waves was [sic] mountains high made hir [her?] worse [Page 4] We got our poto [photo?] taken in Derry going Down and we got it taken again in the upcomming [coming back?] I took hir [her?] through all the ships and Boats and through a great many places as we had time enough before we come [came?] up to Strabane William was weating [waiting?] in Strabane for us we only stoped [stopped?] one week the [there?] were [sic] no company and she would not stay behind me I only Beathed [bathed?] once the whole time It agreed well with your Mother if she had stopped long enough. We got our weight taken at Derry going down your Mother is 14st and 4 lbs I was 11st 7 lbs I am half stone and more failed = September 29 I had this letter almost ready a week ago but time did not permit to finish We would be down with the cuting [cutting?] of the corn to day But the weather is very wet and Stormy we have the Bridge field in there are very little in yet and plenty to cut. we are all in good helth [health?] at present. Write soon - we all join in sending our love and best respects to you all.
