Dear James
We are all in good helth
[health?] at present trust the arivel
[arrival?] of this note will find you
in good helth [health?] we are preparing
hard for the twelfth our flag has come
today its a splendid orange with grand
paintings and blue fringe. She looks
splendid The cost is £4 s10 0d - Big Drum
£4.4s 0d one Side Drum £2 5s 0d Dum
[Drum?] sticks 6s side Drum Sticks 2s I
have sent for another side Drum wich
[which?] will be £2 7s 0d more in all
£13. 14s 0d So we have not done ill I
have got all from Belfast and London

I may tell you we will go out this
year if well splendid They are 17
young members all strong young meen

Mr Fitzmaurice has cut of [off?] his 12
acres and 35 perches so we are Done with
that case McConnell and McNamee has it
from I got into it is £8 2s 0d on us all
and will pay by the sums so its not to
[too?] heavy we have come to worse loss
The old pig took ill on thursday 29 June
and died on Sunday night leaving a 11
[sic] young ones 3 weeks old - young ones
is very high now But we cannot help those
things So long as we have our helth [health?]
we ought not to complain John C [Charles?]
can play all the tunes and beats the
Drum J Huston [Houston?] John McKnight
Beats the Side Drum Alex Duncan the Big

now Joseph young is in cotland [Scotland?] so
that is a loss - So good by [goodbye?] for the
present
