[Page 1] £5:0:0 Castledamph No.18th- 97 My Dear James, A few more lines to let you know we are all in good helth [health?] Thank God for all his goodness to us all. I said in my last one we would send You Some more money for a suit of cloathes [clothes?] well now we will try and keep to our word so I now send you five pounds we want you to keep yourself in order as well as you can in a Strange land and Keep good Company - But I think I need not be giving you an [any?] advice as to this as you Know much Better than me how to get along in that Contrey [country?] [Page 2] William and me were in Strabane on tuesday the 16th - we sold the young Pigs 12 at 10s shillings each The prices is [sic] not good but the man sold some of them again at 14s he had nearly £1 out of them But I wanted to get out [sic] of them as the Potatoes is not to [too?] plenty and we have another comming [coming?] in a Month and one that we are going to kill for tuesday But only about one Cwt. So its not easy making Money - Our Mare is not Dowing [doing?] Well William had her in Strabane fair and all he could get was £5-0-0 her hind legs is [sic] all Destroyed So we will have to put some to her price to get another as soon as we can we will have her in Dunamana [Dunnamanagh?]. [Page 3] Barney Morris and Knox has [sic] left Eden and went to Scotland servents [servants?] is [sic] pretty high - Joseph McFarland wife and all is [sic] left Drumnaspar Asnow [As now?] James is going to the upper house and young Joseph will live at the Bridge So that is a change So how they [those?] two will Do wanting a wife or anybody is a mistery [mystery?] They [The?] Miss Dunbars is leaving here. on the end of this Month The [They?] are getting a School down at Castlefin The [There?] are Different accounts as to who is comming [coming?] to this place and no one is shure [sure?] as yet We had them up on Monday evening last We will think long as the [they?] were some fun when the [they?] they came up John is a very good player on the fiddle now and I Bought a Melodium [melodeon?] and he can play pretty well on it too [Page 4] So when they come up the were [it was?] a good night...well my ear is nothing Better as yet I have to keep a big X Willen Mufelt [Woollen Muffler?] around it even in Strabane and I do not know when it will get Better- I have not much News to send you The [There?] are [sic] nothing particular So we hope you are getting along well The [They?] have Bid me to tell you not to fall in love with that Miss [Ballantyne?] [Ballantine?] you will be able to tell us all about hir [her?] when she comes Do you get any word from W. Ballantine [Ballantyne?] Now give all the News- I hope Woodslee People is all well- also Mr and Mrs Allenson and family.
