| Transcript | Concord December 12th 1889 My dear Martha Received your letter on Tuesday last. I was so glad to hear from you knowing all was quite well, As these few lines leaves me enjoying good health at present, I am glad mother received the picture safe, And tell Lousia I am ever so much obliged to her for her picture. Martha I tell you the truth I did not think I had such a nice young sister as Louisa is. Well Martha you want to know what I am doing and how I am getting along. Well since I left Uncle I am working on a Ranch hear [here?]. I am getting along all right [alright?]. I have not done any work this last 2 weeks it has been raining hear [here?] for that length of time we cannot do anything till it drys [dries?] up. As soon as it drys [dries?] up we will commence plowing [ploughing?] again. The [There?] are seven big teams a running five horses on each plow [plough?]. I will send you a picture of they [the?] teams pulling out after dinner going to work. Martha that is myself in the right hand corner at the foot of the pear tree above the saddle horse, And that is Wm [William?] Gibson below me. Martha you will think the [they?] are funny kind of ploughs with two big wheels on them and the drivers riding on the ploughs you will see by the picture that the plough takes two furrows at a time. Martha I have not seen Uncle, Mary or they [the?] Children since April last or I dont know anything about Uncle's affairs now or what he intend to do All that I know is that he is stoping [stopping?] with Mary. I see by your letter that Wm [William?] is getting a pretty big fellow. Martha tell him I would like him to send me one of his pictures as soon as it would be convenient for him to do so. Wm [William?] can get away with me in height but I can beat him in weight. I weighed myself today I turn the scales at 190lbs. Tell Annie when she sends me one of her pictures I will return her one of mine, And for yourself and Louisa I will enclose you both one each in a few days. Tel [tell?] Annie that I said she could send Mary one but she had none for me. A Merry Xmas and a happy new year to you all. I have little more to say at present hoping to hear from you soon again.
