[Back of Envelope] [Stamped] ESSEX NO 19 03 [ONT?] [Page 1] St. Thomas, Nov 18th, 03 Dear Brother:- Just got down here last night so had not time to write till now. I had a letter from home the other night and I see that W. J. [Willie John?] has gone home to his father I was thinking that is what he would do at last but I think he will rue it some day when it is too late I guess our folks are all sorry that he has gone for he was getting useful around the house and Liza will miss him most. Liza said she had written You three or four letters but had got no answer. Well I am pretty near strapped for money just got 8 cts. today. I want to get a new hat and also a pair of shoes and [Page 2] and a fur but I can wait till later for the fur. I also will have my music to pay for pretty soon $5 more. I had a card from Miss Risdon Enquiring what was the matter when I had not been for my lesson and she said she had the violin for me I don’t think I shall get it now anyway I may try it for a week or so to see how I like it.
