Dear Aunt
Your letter received some time ago. I would have answered sooner but grandfather was sick and I did not have time. Grand Father died last
Friday at 7.p.m. and was buried at 4.p.m. last Saturday. He had not been
conscious for two days before he died. He has not been able to get out of
bed for two weeks. Rev H. P. Douglas of the First Congregational Church
conducted the services, and the choir furnished the music. How are you
feeling now. I never get sick. I have gained ten pounds in a month.
How would you like to have a picture of me? I had some taken last fall
and will send you one if you want it. The weather is fine now. We had
a warm winter. It was never very cold. I want to go to the St. Louis
Worlds Fair about July. Hoping you will write soon

I am
Your affect. [affectionate?] nephew
