| Transcript | Edenclaw 12 May 86. Dear daughters I send you this to let you know that we're all well Thank God for it hoping it will find you enjoying the same blessing the weather was fine to these last few days which are very rough we've the corn sowed long ago and the potatoes all in we put the most of these in with the plough we [sowed?] the flat last week there is ones in the bog already but I think we'll be in it next week ourselves we dont miss you much yet butt [but?] I fear we will soon There is not one married about here since you left John Corrigan is in wood yet living like a hermit. Margaret Wilson is going to America soon she got your directions to send to her sister Mary maybe you have got a letter by this time there has been more deaths than anything else here Mrs Monaghon [Monaghan?] of [Ednacligh?] is dead about a month ago and Master Key's sister of Ederney [Ederny?] is dead there was a great talk about Home rule here we dont know whether they [get?] or not (sic) Grandma is well and came up to hear the letter yesterday they all well (sic) James is there yet and Magret in [Crowns?] theyre (sic) done with the potatoes she hasnot [has not?] got Bella letter (sic) yet and is very uneasy about Mr Williamson was telling us about the you sent him (sic) he said it was a very nice one The children is at Scholl [school?] every day (sic) the neighbours are all well and doing well I have not much more news William Livanston [Livingston?]has set up a shop in Ederney [Ederny?] with his mother the markets are very low here there is only 8d per lb for butter and 6 to 9d for eggs beasts is very low (sic) too weve the three heifers on Ednavigh yet you did not say what wages you had and as some are inquiring I should like to know we are all well and sore [so are?] all the neighbours so no more at present I remain your affectionate father mother brothers sisters and join in sending our love to thee and Isabella write soon |
