| Transcript | Pontiac August 25 86 Dear Annie I write to let you know I recieved [received?] your letter and that dear letter from home. I fell [feel?] better than I did But I expect it is the close confinement that has affected me as well I am half inclined to to write a letter to [lib?] and tell her what I think of the whole Business But I shall be in no hurray [hurry?] I have written that letter to [damaged] and it dont seem as if I felt any tired (sic) well I told you I liked the place and I tell you I like it still and I thank the wise disposer of all earthly Blessings I am out of their power I shall try the very Best I can to please everybody and do my duty to the Best of my knowledge Both to those that are above me and those that are under me There is no darkness in my eyes or in my heart either But I mourn for them that is shut for ever from mortal eyes dearest Sister go to Bachelors hall as little as possible I feel sorry for Maggie But she has a home and friends and Why does she stay there you ask her that you tell her if I was to Beg my way home I should not stay there the world is wide and she can make a living anywhere I enclose the letter from home I shall write next week so You need not be in a hurry to answer this till you hear from me give my love to Alice Jackson and all my friends and Yours I Weir [Isabella Weir?] Your own Sister |
