Dear Sister it
is now past
three years since America has
known as the time seems
short yet how we have changed
since then both have become wiser
and neither I hope forgotten
the moral precept in which
were [we?] were educated I once
got taken in by going to a
distant land to be [buy?] a house &
my experience since then
may prove of [?] in the [future?]
Willis was a [very?] nice [letter?]
just like [one?] [of?] the Weirs I like
his [sentiments?] [and?] I like his
offer I wish [faded] had been made
to [me do?] [of?] [faded] him for the
sight to the house for him
and tell him none of of (sic) the
Weirs ever [lived?] a Bachelor
or died an old maid either
[Caleb?] was to Mrs Kelly & [faded]
brought [the?] [faded] got them
all right Mrs K brought
them over [that?] afternoon
she asked me to go and see
her but I have not got very
hungry yet we have lots of
Tomatoes & beans & Cucumbers
i [I?] tell you what the asylum
is the place after all I did
not have a fellow to [Orchard?]
Cake But I enjoyed it just
as well without [one?] I saw
Edd Arthur and that Young
girl I spoke to Edd which
I think Miss Young did
not like But I rather enjoyed
her displeasure
I had a paper from home
which gives account of the 12
of August it was celebrated
at Ballinamallard [Bellanamallard?] where
our poor father has went
some time I'll enclose a
letter to [William?] not too
[?] to write as i [I?] have
been in Church and the hall
is rather noisy I want you
if you can spare it to send
me a couple of Dollars it will
save me changing [?] 20
Ill get some and [firm?] next
month and
go and stick on to [Much?]

your affectionate
Sister [Ellen?]
