Dear Mother, Sister and Bros

I write to you to day as a widow
indeed for at 11pm. today my Husband
left me to go to that place from
whence there is no return and
has left me alone in the world
with few friends to take [the?]
Battle of life Anew May
God himself Be my Guide
and friend in the future
that is before me he was
consious [concious?] to the very last and
spoke to me scarcely 5 minutes
Before he died he went very
peacefully and I feel grateful
to a merciful providence that
did not leave him to suffer
longer I shall Be very lonely
and miss him very much for he was
truly a Good Man, loving Husband
to me and it was not his fault
that I had to work this
world is surely full of sorrow
and only a Fortaste of that life
that is to come Dear Sister
how is Jane I hope to have a
letter from you at the place
where I work But have not
Been there now in two weeks
although it is only Thursday
since my Husband was round
I am feeling fairly good myself
and intend to leave the city
as soon as possible it is
not Best for you to write
to me until you hear from
me again I have thought
of going to Fresno to hunt
Willie up I have never heard
from him since your
marriage hoping this will
find you all comfortable
By the Blessing of God
I can write no more for
my heart is full of sorrow
So Good Bye Mother all

Bell.
